Like many wine-making families in this area, we are proud of a history in this trade which goes back many years. We are born and bred with love and passion for our vineyards and vines, and most of all our most precious product: pure and precious wine.
Our production methods are in tune with nature: We watch the vines grow and the grapes develop. The soil in our vineyards is important. We ensure growth on fertile soils throughout - the secret to a fantastic grape is in the slope and exposure to sunlight of each vineyard. This natural balance allows us to produce an amazing variety of grapes and flavours.
We love introducing wine lovers to this great variety and we believe that the location matters - get to know what's in your glass in the middle of a vineyard or in the wine cellar. Whatever your taste, we will have the right wine for you.
The wine-growing tradition of the Mosel valley has been its leading industry and passion ever since it was first introduced by the Romans. They quickly recognised that our steep slopes and slate-stone soils offer the perfect conditions for growing and harvesting superior grapes. |

Slate is a light, flat type of stone. It soaks up the warmth of the sunlight during the day and passes it on to the vines. At nighttime, when the temperatures drop, the stone continues to reflect the warmth of the daily sunshine to the plants, so that our grapes can take advantage of this amazing climate.
One grape variety that particularly loves the harmonious combination of perfectly suited soil, sun-catching locations and favourable climate is the Mosel favourite Riesling.
The forelands of the Mosel valley and the impressive glacial valley around our home are prime locations for our other leading grape varieties: Müller-Thurgau (also known as Rivaner), Kerner, Optima and Findling.
The areas at the bottom of our steep and stunning hill vineyards are our growing grounds for the red grapes of Dornfelder and Pinot Noir. Our red wines are a Mosel newcomer and increasingly popular due to their fruity clarity.
We love nothing more than showing our ambition to create great wines while enjoying and sampling the products and the impression they make on wine lovers. Our guests are impressed by our informative guided tours through the vineyards - and obviously a sample glass is never far!
